Winter has arrived, bringing with it a burst of holiday spirit! Whether you're celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, or any midwinter holiday, vibrant colors play a significant role in our celebrations.

While those in the southern hemisphere may not fully appreciate the cheerful atmosphere that lights and colors bring to the cold, dreary northern winters, we certainly do! The warm, muted tones of fall give way to the need for brighter shades of reds, blues, oranges, and greens in our lives.
So, how can we incorporate these vibrant colors into our ecoprinting?
I recently introduced a new technique called Kaleidoscope Ecoprinting in my silk and wool scarf classes, and the response has been fantastic! My students have found joy in the colors and random patterns that emerge in their pieces. I've used similar techniques in my Ecoprint on Paper classes for years and occasionally on yardage. While there's a fair amount of prep work involved, the final results are truly worth it!
To achieve a diverse design, a random assortment of dyed blanket scraps is the key to an exciting ecoprinting experience. Check out the stunning results you can accomplish below!

Ecoprinting designs can be random or created with a specific pattern in mind. If you are not into random designs and patterns, then follow along with a symmetrical design idea! See where it can take you!
