Create your own design out of easy to carve Speedball rubber blocks and print it onto a cotton canvas tote bag!
A fun introductory class to the art of block printing on any surface. Learn the fundamentals of block printing which include How to transfer a simple design onto your block, how to use a Speedball multi-blade tool to easily carve the design. How to ink your design to imprint onto paper and then a canvas tote bag.
Students will leave with their own 14” x 11” x 2” cotton tote bag imprinted with their own design, their handcrafted rubber block print stamp (That can be used on additional surfaces such as wool and silk) and several hand stamped prints on paper. Suitable for children ages 11 up. We use sharp tools.
To Bring: Students do not need to bring anything. Although several designs will be available for students to copy to carve, they are welcome to bring a simple clip art design no bigger than 4" x 6" as well.
