Ecoprint on Silk in Color is a great class to introduce you to the techniques used to create colorful backgrounds in your ecoprinted designs!  In this workshop we will be using synthetic dyes for longevity!.(in my kit!)  This is the visual version of my Tutorial "Ecoprint in Color"  Regardless of the dyes you may prefer (synthetic, organic or natural) the techniques to create a background color is the same on proeein and cellulose fibers!  The class is designed to be suitable for all levels of experience!

Ecoprinting uses the tannins, shapes and properties of Nature's leaves, plants and flowers to imprint those designs onto assorted substrates such as silk, wool, linen and other fibers. In this workshop you will learn the techniques of creating imprints on silk with a background in color!.

​Supplies: There is a special $45.00 supply kit for this virtual workshop which is paid separately via the this link! Your kit consists of 2 silk scarves, 2 re-usable dye blankets (pre-dyed by me in 2 different colors), iron and potassium aluminum sulfate mordants, twine and 2 wood dowels. A list of additional household supplies will be emailed to all participants prior to class as well as follow-up attachments for how to continue to use your dye blankets and mix your mordants!
