Meet Theresa

M. Theresa Brown is a seasoned professional artist with extensive experience in various artistic disciplines. Her journey began with a formal education in Commercial Art and Printmaking at East Carolina University, which laid the foundation for her career in printmaking and graphic design. Theresa specializes in using both natural and low-impact synthetic dyes to create unique designs on silk, wool, paper, and leather. Her work has evolved into artisanal clothing and accessories, with her designs featured in international publications such as "No Serial Number" and "Belle Armoire.”
In addition to her artistic practice, Theresa has contributed numerous articles and blogs to online publications. She has created instructional DVDs and eBooks in partnership with the national art chain Jerrysartarama, including “Art Marketing Success Secrets” and “Single Mom’s Guide to Making Money as an Artist,” which have been published as audiobooks. She frequently speaks on art marketing for various art organizations. Theresa is recognized as the first instructor to teach Ecoprinting on Leather in the United States and has developed a series of instructional PDFs on ecoprinting techniques.
