Before COVID, this was my most popular Ecoprint on Leather workshop! People from all over have loved and benefited from my online 1 day workshops but this is a more comprehensive, hands on workshop!  How to Ecoprint on Leather is a great introduction  to the world of leather in ecoprinting and designed to be suitable for all levels of experience! Ecoprinting uses the tannins, shapes and properties of Nature's leaves, plants and flowers to imprint those designs onto assorted substrates such as silk, wool, linen and other fibers. Leather is a particular challenge.So in this workshop, you will learn how to select, care and maintain the proper leathers! Learn the techniques of creating imprints on assorted leathers with designs in color and natural. All students become members to my private Ecoprint on Leather Facebook group!

What we will be doing:

 

We will be working on creating beautiful ecoprints on lambskin and top grain cowhide using Nature's colors for a natural imprint and dyes for added color on both weights of leather. My studio location is semi-rural and we will explore and collect our leaves and flowers to use on our leather pieces at the studio. There is a lunch break each day for relaxation, studio tour, equipment and shop tour as well as a a fun look at the tools and demonstration for making your own leather products! I will also have leather scraps available for students to see how to rivet and create closures for pocketbooks and to play with!

​Supplies: ALL supplies included! Light lunch served each day (you may bring anything you wish) bottled water, coffee, snacks available all day. We usually finish on Sundays by 3 pm.

 

 

Covid Policies: Class will be smaller than in the past and if you have NOT had a COVID vaccination then a mask is required. Seriously we want to be safe, not sorry! :-) To see complete workshop policies, visit here.
